This folk art, most likely rooted in Appalachia, is now bearing fruit across the big water, in Japan.

The hair, and some
accessaries, are made of felt. Due to the
influence of western nursery rhymes, when Japanese
people hear "Mary" they think of sheep.
Hence the name Apple and Mary. |
