This
is a dream forest, where frogs,
butterflies, a rainbow-caterpillar,
and others play.
There is no verbal dialogue. Relaxing,
but stimulating
expression is found in image, movement,
live sound effects, and musical instrument
performance. As always in our productions,
the collaboration of puppets and
instruments is a basic motif.

Interaction with our audience, as a whole and
individually, is also a key element. Each session
unfolds with some degree of improvised play, attentive
to response. Forest inhabitants come to play with
those who appear receptive, audience members can
beckon the butterfly, feed the caterpillar. The
empathetic connection of babes on parents’ laps sets
the tone for the gathering.

Speaking of parents, they are also allowed to enjoy. The
sounds, sights, and feelings invoked by the performers,
as well as the curious and joyous reactions of the kids,
are gifts to be shared by all.
Like many “baby theater” programs, this one is designed
for intimate gatherings, preferably with less than 30
parent-kid pairs. The 20—25-minute performance easily
fits attention spans of the target audience.
Following that, themed play features gentle sound-related
toys, and can include encounters with the two
performers, their puppets, and instruments.
